On a little break from the house painting I bring you today’s Before & After. This gray drop leaf was redone for Kelly Sherman Design and can be purchased here.
I found this side table at our local Restore where is was mixed among the dining room sets looking like an orphan. I loved the french provincial legs. I also think it is great when a piece of furniture is multifunctional so I liked the drop leaf sides. This table can be used as a nightstand or an end table but also a coffee table with the sides up. It could be very handy in a small apartment where you might need entertaining space one night and floor space another.
When I brought the table to the register, I pulled the masking tape price tag off the top to hand to the cashier. I then realized I had pulled all of the finish off with from that corner. Most people would worry but I just thought that that boded well for how easy the finish would come off.

After I brought it home I stripped off the finish instead of sanding so I wouldn’t damage the curves of the legs. Then it was primed and painted using Safecoat paints in gray for the body and pure white for the drawer fronts.
