Blue Nightstand Makeover

Let me start by apologizing for the long stretch since my last blog post.  As someone lovingly pointed out (Hi Mom!) I need to get it together and write something down.  So here we go.

Today I ask you to feast your eyes on a makeover of a beaten up nightstand.  I found this poor thing looking dated and scratched and knew there must be something I could do to help.  We start with the before pic.

Before!

We have all seen something that looks like this one.  The finish and the hardware are not so fond memories from childhood.  I wanted to get away from the dated and show that with some paint and new hardware you can achieve a whole new look.

I sanded, primed, painted and then put a clear coat on for durability.  Shiny new hardware finished the look.  I used Safecoat paint and Vermont Natural Coatings’ Polywhey.  As you know I am a big fan of both.

Now for the after pic.  If you like it, you should go to the shop and buy it!

After!

Of course we can’t forget about Opie.  He’s having a hard time with the crazy mid summer heat in April thing we have going on in NJ.  Please forgive him for not sitting up and posing.
