{"id":1153,"date":"2013-05-23T10:00:12","date_gmt":"2013-05-23T14:00:12","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/ridiculousredhead.com\/?p=1153"},"modified":"2014-07-07T21:06:39","modified_gmt":"2014-07-08T01:06:39","slug":"spring-in-the-front-yard","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/ridiculousredhead.com\/?p=1153","title":{"rendered":"Spring in the Front Yard"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Since it&#8217;s been a bit since we last visited the garden I figured I would catch all of you up. \u00a0In the interest of full disclosure these pics were taken about 2 weeks ago. \u00a0A lot of these blooms are now fading but since many of these plants are my favorites I really wanted to share.<\/p>\n<p>First off are the lilacs that are in full bloom. I have never had a better year with tons and tons of flowers covering the tree. \u00a0Last year I think I only got like four flowers. \u00a0And no, I have no idea why since I have done little research on this plant. \u00a0It was here when I moved in and I have just tried not to kill it since then. \u00a0Apparently letting it run amok in the fall instead of pruning since you are getting married is the way to go.<\/p>\n<p><a onclick=\"javascript:pageTracker._trackPageview('\/downloads\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/05\/rr-lilacs-5.6.jpg');\"  href=\"http:\/\/ridiculousredhead.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/05\/rr-lilacs-5.6.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"aligncenter size-large wp-image-1154\" title=\"Lilacs\" src=\"http:\/\/ridiculousredhead.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/05\/rr-lilacs-5.6-1024x767.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"670\" height=\"501\" srcset=\"http:\/\/ridiculousredhead.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/05\/rr-lilacs-5.6-1024x767.jpg 1024w, http:\/\/ridiculousredhead.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/05\/rr-lilacs-5.6-300x224.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 670px) 100vw, 670px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Next up are my beautiful dark tulips. \u00a0I think I planted a ton of these two years ago but only a few came up. \u00a0Last year it never got cold enough to make these bulbs happy and maybe some just didn&#8217;t make it. \u00a0Or it could be that I really should throw some compost on them instead of just the veggies.<\/p>\n<p><a onclick=\"javascript:pageTracker._trackPageview('\/downloads\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/05\/rr-tulips-5.6.jpg');\"  href=\"http:\/\/ridiculousredhead.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/05\/rr-tulips-5.6.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"aligncenter size-large wp-image-1155\" title=\"dark tulips\" src=\"http:\/\/ridiculousredhead.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/05\/rr-tulips-5.6-1024x767.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"670\" height=\"501\" srcset=\"http:\/\/ridiculousredhead.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/05\/rr-tulips-5.6-1024x767.jpg 1024w, http:\/\/ridiculousredhead.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/05\/rr-tulips-5.6-300x224.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 670px) 100vw, 670px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>A few of these tulips came up this year. \u00a0I think these are from a batch of tulips I grabbed last year on a whim and of course didn&#8217;t write down any info about. \u00a0They are very interesting looking I think.<\/p>\n<p><a onclick=\"javascript:pageTracker._trackPageview('\/downloads\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/05\/rr-red-tulips-5.6.jpg');\"  href=\"http:\/\/ridiculousredhead.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/05\/rr-red-tulips-5.6.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"aligncenter size-large wp-image-1156\" title=\"red tulips\" src=\"http:\/\/ridiculousredhead.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/05\/rr-red-tulips-5.6-1024x767.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"670\" height=\"501\" srcset=\"http:\/\/ridiculousredhead.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/05\/rr-red-tulips-5.6-1024x767.jpg 1024w, http:\/\/ridiculousredhead.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/05\/rr-red-tulips-5.6-300x224.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 670px) 100vw, 670px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Another favorite is the azaleas. \u00a0There are 7 that go around the front of the house and one neighbor said they could be as much as 40 years old. \u00a0They make the yard look wonderful every year around Mother&#8217;s Day which is nice for when family visits.<\/p>\n<p><a onclick=\"javascript:pageTracker._trackPageview('\/downloads\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/05\/rr-azalea-5.6-1.jpg');\"  href=\"http:\/\/ridiculousredhead.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/05\/rr-azalea-5.6-1.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"aligncenter size-large wp-image-1158\" title=\"Azalea \" src=\"http:\/\/ridiculousredhead.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/05\/rr-azalea-5.6-1-1024x768.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"670\" height=\"502\" srcset=\"http:\/\/ridiculousredhead.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/05\/rr-azalea-5.6-1-1024x768.jpg 1024w, http:\/\/ridiculousredhead.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/05\/rr-azalea-5.6-1-300x225.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 670px) 100vw, 670px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>And one shot of the front yard to get all of these beauties at once.
