As my dear readers know, I love being out in the garden. \u00a0I am self taught and started out killing ivy and cactus. \u00a0It’s been a big learning curve but I have come a long way. \u00a0I love to share my journey of teaching myself how to garden here and on Instagram<\/a> if you would like to follow along.<\/p>\n

I have a very, very patient husband when it comes to the ideas I cook up. \u00a0And he will indulge me when I get all excited about what is growing in the garden that day that he just MUST come see right now. \u00a0But gardening isn’t really his thing so he doesn’t bring a lot to the conversation.<\/p>\n

So in my quest to learn more about gardening and hanging out with friends more often, I have started the Ridiculous Garden Club<\/a>!!<\/p>\n

I have started a Facebook group<\/a> so all the members can share information, ask questions and maybe swap plants or seeds. \u00a0As we get going there will be lots of events to join in to share a drink in the garden and talk plants. \u00a0I am working on a kick off party for the beginning of April. \u00a0Other members have already offered for the club to visit their own gardens and have suggested events we might like to attend such as the Open House at the Rutgers Gardens.<\/p>\n

This is not going to be a stuffy club where we only talk about prized roses and who had family on the Mayflower. \u00a0I want this to be a fun group that anyone who is interested in gardening can join. \u00a0We already have very experienced gardens and also people who have never gardened but would love to start a small garden on their patio. \u00a0If you want to grow herbs in your window, that works too. \u00a0Maybe you’re really only interested in looking at some pretty flowers while sipping a cocktail? \u00a0Come join in.<\/p>\n

And don’t think you can’t participate if you aren’t local to NJ! \u00a0So far we have members from California, Minnesota, DC, New York and Paris, France.<\/p>\n

I will be setting up a page on this website as well with all the information about the club and a listing of events so even if you aren’t on Facebook you can still know what’s going on.<\/p>\n

I hope you join in and say hello! \u00a0Ask questions, share info and make a new friend.<\/p>\n
