This past winter I have had a ton of people ask about gardening.\u00a0 They want to know how to get started, how to move beyond a pot of herbs in their kitchen window, how to start growing more of their own food.\u00a0 Many have offered me wine (the best bribe there is for me) if I would come to their house and help them get started.<\/p>\n

And as much as I love to help people get gardening (and wine in the garden), I am a little tight on time lately.\u00a0 The whole raising a kid, while running a company and of course never learning when enough is enough with all the gardening projects, takes up a bit of time.<\/p>\n

So instead I have created a video series on how to get started gardening.\u00a0 It’s five videos of yours truly walking you through the basics.\u00a0 It’s a nuts and bolts look at how you to get going in an easy, inexpensive way.<\/h3>\n

The goal for this course is for you to eat something you grew yourself this year!\u00a0 There is no better tomato, or pea, or pepper than the one you grow yourself.<\/p>\n

\u201cI kill everything I try to grow\u201d<\/p>\n

Yeah, I did too.\u00a0 I have killed both English Ivy and cactus which is quite a feat (I underwatered and overwatered respectively).<\/p>\n

\u201cMy yard isn\u2019t big enough\u201d or \u201cI don\u2019t have a yard at all\u201d<\/p>\n

I live in suburbia on a 50\u2019 x 100\u2019 plot and a good amount of that is taken up by my house and driveway.\u00a0 I have traditional raised beds, but I also use edible landscaping (most of my front gardens are edible and beautiful) and I have lots of pots everywhere (great for balconies or patios.)<\/p>\n

I didn\u2019t grow up on a farm.\u00a0 I didn\u2019t start with any special knowledge.\u00a0 I just started.<\/h5>\n

I learned a few things (like don\u2019t leave your potted plant on high shelf without water for a few months) and slowly I started growing things.\u00a0 I was totally making it up. Just trying new things and researching everything on Google.\u00a0 Now I have gardens all over my yard that we grow fresh food from all year.<\/p>\n

This course is free.\u00a0 I just want you to start.\u00a0 And I want to help so it\u2019s easy and you have success.\u00a0 Because once you do eat that first thing harvested from your own garden you will become addicted.\u00a0 And you will keep growing things, and learning how to grow new things.\u00a0 And you will be happy.<\/p>\n
