{"id":606,"date":"2012-03-26T10:44:15","date_gmt":"2012-03-26T14:44:15","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/ridiculousredhead.com\/?p=606"},"modified":"2014-09-03T22:11:17","modified_gmt":"2014-09-04T02:11:17","slug":"spring-bulbs-are-a-bloomin","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/ridiculousredhead.com\/?p=606","title":{"rendered":"Spring bulbs are a bloomin&#8217;!"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>I simply love spring. \u00a0For so many reasons. \u00a0 Flips flops. \u00a0Taking the dog to the beach. \u00a0And spring bulbs.<\/p>\n<p>Spring bulbs are my favorite flowers. Usually they are popping out of the snow and giving you hope that the cold will be over soon. \u00a0My gram had a rock garden when I was little with bulbs everywhere and I always remember that she would go out and brush away the snow to help the snowdrops pop though. \u00a0And the tulips and daffodils! \u00a0It was a long time ago but I still remember the excitement and that&#8217;s probably where this bulb love comes from.<\/p>\n<p>I have been anxiously waiting for things to bloom and I feel like everything literally popped open this morning.<\/p>\n<div id=\"attachment_607\" style=\"width: 680px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><a onclick=\"javascript:pageTracker._trackPageview('\/downloads\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/03\/IMG_0908.jpg');\"  href=\"http:\/\/ridiculousredhead.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/03\/IMG_0908.jpg\"><img aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-607\" decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"size-large wp-image-607\" title=\"IMG_0908\" src=\"http:\/\/ridiculousredhead.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/03\/IMG_0908-1024x764.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"670\" height=\"499\" srcset=\"http:\/\/ridiculousredhead.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/03\/IMG_0908-1024x764.jpg 1024w, http:\/\/ridiculousredhead.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/03\/IMG_0908-300x224.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 670px) 100vw, 670px\" \/><\/a><p id=\"caption-attachment-607\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Daffodils!<\/p><\/div>\n<p>I like to add some bulbs every year to the garden which I plant in the fall. \u00a0The smart professional way to do this would be to write down the species and year to keep track. \u00a0It would also be helpful when someone asks you &#8220;What is that coming up?&#8221; and then you would have an answer. \u00a0I didn&#8217;t do that. \u00a0I don&#8217;t have any idea what some of this stuff is. \u00a0I know that I wouldn&#8217;t have bought anything ugly so does it really matter anyway?<\/p>\n<p>Here I believe the ones on the left are a type of hyacinth and on the right are some kind of daffodil. \u00a0 Also on the right are some tulip that are starting to get going. \u00a0The bush in the center is an azalea that my neighbor says is as old as I am and is gorgeous when it blooms around Mother&#8217;s Day. \u00a0And yes those are the dandelions in the cracks that I haven&#8217;t weeded yet.<\/p>\n<p><a onclick=\"javascript:pageTracker._trackPageview('\/downloads\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/03\/IMG_0903.jpg');\"  href=\"http:\/\/ridiculousredhead.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/03\/IMG_0903.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"aligncenter size-large wp-image-608\" title=\"IMG_0903\" src=\"http:\/\/ridiculousredhead.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/03\/IMG_0903-1024x636.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"670\" height=\"416\" srcset=\"http:\/\/ridiculousredhead.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/03\/IMG_0903-1024x636.jpg 1024w, http:\/\/ridiculousredhead.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/03\/IMG_0903-300x186.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 670px) 100vw, 670px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Another spring favorite is our lilac bush. \u00a0It has just started to get leaves going and the flower buds are now showing. \u00a0This bush sits right outside the front porch and everytime you come into the house you get the scent of the lilacs.<\/p>\n<div id=\"attachment_609\" style=\"width: 680px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><a onclick=\"javascript:pageTracker._trackPageview('\/downloads\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/03\/IMG_0904.jpg');\"  href=\"http:\/\/ridiculousredhead.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/03\/IMG_0904.jpg\"><img aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-609\" decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"size-large wp-image-609\" title=\"IMG_0904\" src=\"http:\/\/ridiculousredhead.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/03\/IMG_0904-764x1024.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"670\" height=\"898\" srcset=\"http:\/\/ridiculousredhead.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/03\/IMG_0904-764x1024.jpg 764w, http:\/\/ridiculousredhead.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/03\/IMG_0904-224x300.jpg 224w, http:\/\/ridiculousredhead.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/03\/IMG_0904.jpg 1936w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 670px) 100vw, 670px\" \/><\/a><p id=\"caption-attachment-609\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Lilac<\/p><\/div>\n<p>Here are a bunch more bulbs mixed in around the hydrangeas. \u00a0The one group of daffodils in the middle are actually taking over one of the hydrangeas which you can barely even see in this photo. \u00a0The tulips on the borders are still working on growing.<\/p>\n<p><a onclick=\"javascript:pageTracker._trackPageview('\/downloads\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/03\/cropped-906.jpg');\"  href=\"http:\/\/ridiculousredhead.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/03\/cropped-906.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"aligncenter size-large wp-image-611\" title=\"cropped 906\" src=\"http:\/\/ridiculousredhead.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/03\/cropped-906-1024x766.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"670\" height=\"501\" srcset=\"http:\/\/ridiculousredhead.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/03\/cropped-906-1024x766.jpg 1024w, http:\/\/ridiculousredhead.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/03\/cropped-906-300x224.jpg 300w, http:\/\/ridiculousredhead.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/03\/cropped-906.jpg 1728w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 670px) 100vw, 670px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>I hope your garden is bustling as well.
